Guest Policy

Check In – Check Out  


STANDARD CHECK-IN/ CHECK-OUT TIMING :CHECK-IN TIME – 1 PM IST (Check-in is allowed 24 hours)

CHECK-OUT TIME – 11 AM IST

A. Shalom Backpackers is a chain of backpacker hostels and is well suited for young backpacking travellers. As a brand, we do not recommend families and do not allow all those below 18 years of age to stay with us. 

B. Payment modes accepted at our hostels: Cash, Debit card, Credit card and UPIs.

C. Any payment gateway charges paid during the time of booking are non-refundable.

D. We cannot guarantee accommodation in the same dorm room in the case of 3 or 4 people travelling together. Allocation of a room in a specific private room category may vary depending on availability. That will strictly be subject to availability until the time of check-in.

E. Specific policies may apply to different hostels under the brand at specific times of the year and the same shall be communicated at the time of check-in.

F. Cafe Shalom serves eggetarian as well as vegetarian options.

G. To maintain the backpacking culture and community spirit we promote self service in all our cafes.

H. We are not a PET-FRIENDLY hostel chain.

I. Should any action by a guest be deemed inappropriate by the hostel or if any inappropriate behaviour is brought to the attention of the hostel, the hostel reserves the right to take action against the guest. Rest assured, proper investigations will be undertaken by the administration to ensure that the affair is dealt with in complete fairness.

J. Guests with local IDs will be allowed admission to our hostels except for Udaipur, Mussoorie. 

K. Right to admission is reserved.

L. It is mandatory for every guest to present a GoI approved valid Photo ID at the time of check-in. Valid IDs are Passport, Aadhar, Driving license, and Voter card. Every foreign guest at all our hostels must carry and present their passport and a valid visa (in originals) during the time of check-in. Every Pakistani guest at all our hostels must carry and present during the time of check-in: an additional residence permit letter from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad along with the passport and valid visa in originals.

Booking Policy


A. All cancellations, if informed 7 days prior to the check-in date, shall be eligible for a 100% refund. In case cancellations happen within 7 days of the check-in date, there wouldn’t be ANY refund and will attract 100% cancellation charges. If the guest doesn’t show up they will be charged the total price of the reservation.

B. Guests with local IDs will be allowed admission to our hostels except for Udaipur & Mussoorie.

C. All amendments, if informed 7 days prior to the check-in date, shall be eligible for a free amendment. Amendments cannot be done within 7 days of the check-in date. The reservation amendment can only be done once.

D. The reservations made for hostel stays cannot be shifted from one location to another. If the reservation is eligible for free cancellation, then we’ll assist in cancelling the reservation and initiate a refund for the same from our end. The guest can then proceed to make the reservation for the desired location.  

Hostel Cancellation Policy

 

A. Any and all cancellation requests are attended to by the central reservations team. To cancel your booking, kindly write to them at booking@shalombackpackers.com. Please make sure to mention your reservation ID and all relevant details in the same e-mail.

B. All cancellations, if informed 7 days prior to the check-in date, shall be eligible for a 100% refund. If the guest doesn’t show up they will be charged the total price of the reservation.

C. For all communications related to cancellations, write to us on booking@shalombackpackers.com with details such as Booking ID and Guest name.

Workation Cancellation Policy

 

A. All workation cancellations, if informed 7 days prior to the check-in date, shall be eligible for a 100% refund. In case cancellations happen within 7 days of the check-in date, there wouldn’t be ANY refund and will attract 100% cancellation charges. If the guest doesn’t show up they will be charged the total price of the reservation.

B. To cancel/reschedule, kindly write to us at booking@shalombackpackers.com.

Extension Policy

 

A. If the guest wishes to extend their stay at any hostel then availing a reservation will be subject to availaibility. 

B. The room would be provided at the ongoing rates on the website and not as per the rates at which the previous booking was made.

A. We shall accommodate people as per guidelines issued by the state or the central government and all guests are advised to adhere to it strictly.
